HUMILITY IS NOT THINKING LESS OF YOURSELF,
BUT THINKING ABOUT YOURSELF LESS

MONDAY – Mark 9:30-37
What would it mean for you to reflect 9:35-37 in your family? Your work? What is the surprising incentive to do so?
Rich people trust their wealth to protect them. They think it’s like the high walls of a city (Proverbs 18:11).

TUESDAY – James 3:13-18
Why does “humility” “come from wisdom” (3:13)? What kind of wisdom?
Pride in my accomplishments means God will take me down. Humility that only God can give means future honor from Him (Proverbs 18:12).

WEDNESDAY – Numbers 12:1-15
What do you think inspired Moses’ humility (12:3)? Check 20:12 and Exodus 2:12?
Listen before you answer. It’s stupid and embarrassing for you if you don’t (Proverbs 18:13).

THURSDAY – Psalm 115
What ideas, things, people do you depend on more than on God?
Having a positive, realistic attitude helps when we are sick, but nothing helps when we give up (Proverbs 18:14).

FRIDAY – Proverbs 1:8-19
What was it Jesus said about having everything going your way but, in the end, losing your soul (Luke 12:16-21)?
With the understanding only God can give comes learning. People with the wisdom only He can give listen to Him to learn more (Proverbs 18:15).

How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord.
